The Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007 mandates 100% screening by August 2010, for all cargo at the piece level, originating in the U.S. and transported on passenger aircraft.
Currently, the Transportation Security Administration has mandated that 50% of all cargo be subject to screening that moves onboard a passenger carrying aircraft. This screening is conducted by LLI prior to movement of the cargo. The TSA now requires your written consent to screening of cargo for movement via air transportation, which can be authorized on a """per shipment" basis or as one blanket authorization.
